During the training period you will manage to meet three different disciplinary lineages; classical Hatha, Ashtanga, and Hot Yoga, developing an insight of them all and also gain familiarity with other styles such as restorative and yin, hopefully becoming passionate towards one in particular, or, what is better, developing your own teaching style.

KULA 200 Hour Teacher Training

Kula Annex’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training was established in 2009 and is one of Toronto’s most comprehensive Teacher Training Programs (Yoga Alliance). Over 300 teachers have passed through our doors since 2009, and emerged as confident and talented teachers and practitioners.

The program features 5 highly experienced teachers who will personally support and guide you throughout the process. Kula Yoga Studio provides the opportunity to teach our Karma Classes, which are specifically dedicated to honing the skills of their YTT graduates. The syllabus is comprehensive yet uniquely approachable, and manageable even for those who are in school or working full time.

Their tightly knit, inclusive community extends long after the program ends, as they build long-term, supportive relationships with our student body.

Program Prerequisite: A developed and dedicated yoga practice, for a minimum of one year. The training requires a willingness to connect deeply with the yoga tradition and to explore with an open heart.


Uniquely designed for those looking to deepen their practice and/or learning to teach. Choose to complete the first 80 hour component of YogaVida or complete the full 200 hour training. Feel free to add the final 120 of Learn to Teach after completing your 80 hours of Deepen Your Practice.

Part 1: Immerse yourself in the life-changing practice of yoga philosophy and the traditions of yoga. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra’s, Ayurveda, Pranayama, the subtle body, and more. You will learn how to deepen your own physical practice through asana, breath work and mediation.

Part 2: Dive deeper into the asanas, sequencing, anatomy and physiology in this component of our YTT. A big part of becoming a teacher is the practice you get in a safe, instructional environment, and YogaVida offers many hours of instruction on the Business of Yoga, The Art of Teaching, Sequencing to a pose and more.

Led by Toronto’s best teachers, Yogavida goes far beyond just the postures + asana, incorporating anatomy, philosophy, meditation, pranayama, and mindfulness, positive psychology and also includes modules on diversity and inclusion, trauma, the business of yoga, and navigating social media.

Fusing the more tangible aspect of yoga, asana – observing anatomy beyond the physical aspects understanding chakras, nadis, vayus, and kundalini energy- with alchemy and reiki;  besides becoming a certified yoga teacher, you are going to get certified in Reiki level I too!

You will also get training in business and marketing, including guidance in building your own brand, finding your unique voice and achieve a way to share with the world what you have to offer.

The lead teachers are all students from the Himalayan Institute, rated ERYT 500. The curriculum includes focusing in more than 30 asanas and their transitions, adjustments and modifications, along with pranayama, meditation, the anatomy of energy bodies, prana vayus and practicum; designing and teaching classes.
