The Magic of the Telluride Yoga Festival: Practice, Presence, and Mountain Energy
There are places in the world that invite you to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what truly matters. The Telluride Yoga Festival is one of those places.
Nestled in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in Telluride, this festival is more than a gathering, it’s an experience. A coming together of teachers, seekers, movers, and curious minds, all united by a shared intention: to connect more deeply to themselves, to each other, and to the present moment.
At Sama Yoga House, we are honored to be part of this magic.

A Setting That Transforms
There is something undeniably powerful about practicing yoga surrounded by mountains.
The air feels cleaner. The mind feels quieter. The body feels more alive.
In Telluride, nature becomes your teacher. The vastness of the landscape invites perspective. The stillness invites reflection. The beauty invites awe.
Whether you’re flowing through a morning asana practice as the sun rises over the peaks, or sitting in quiet meditation with the sound of wind moving through the trees, there is a sense that something deeper is unfolding.
This is the magic of place—and Telluride holds it effortlessly.

A Festival Rooted in Connection
The Telluride Yoga Festival is known for its diverse and thoughtful programming, bringing together world-class teachers across yoga, meditation, wellness, and philosophy.
But what truly sets it apart is the feeling.
It’s the conversations that happen between sessions.
The shared breath in a full class.
The vulnerability of learning something new.
The openness that emerges when people gather with intention.
This is a space where community is not just a concept, it’s a lived experience.
Practicing with Christine Anderson
We are incredibly excited to share that Christine Anderson, founder and CEO of Sama Yoga House, will be heading back to the festival for the second year leading both yoga classes and philosophy lectures.

Christine brings over 13 years of experience teaching across the world -from studios and retreats to international yoga teacher trainings. Her approach is grounded, dynamic, and deeply intentional blending movement, breath, and philosophy into an experience that is both accessible and transformative.
In her classes, you can expect:
- Intelligent, fluid sequencing rooted in awareness
- Breath-led movement that supports nervous system regulation
- Themes woven through philosophy and real-life application
- A balance of strength, softness, and presence
In her philosophy lectures, Christine invites students to explore yoga beyond the physical diving into teachings that can be integrated into everyday life. Her style is engaging, relatable, and rooted in lived experience, making ancient wisdom feel both practical and relevant.
Whether you’re stepping onto the mat with her or sitting in one of her talks, you’ll be invited into a space of curiosity, connection, and growth.
